Prof. Arnaud SAUER

Professor Arnaud Sauer is a distinguished academic ophthalmologist (MD, PhD, FEBO) and surgeon based at the Strasbourg University Hospital, France. He currently serves as a Full Professor and Senior Consultant (PU-PH), specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and advanced ocular surgery, including strabismus.

Professional Background
Professor Sauer’s career is marked by a deep commitment to clinical practice, research and medical education. Since 2015, he has held a joint appointment at the Strasbourg Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital, as a Full Professor and Senior Consultant (PU-PH). His leadership roles include serving as Head of Paediatric and strabismus unit of the Department of Ophthalmology, Vice Dean for Environment and Sustainable Development at the School of Medicine and Director of the Eastern France School of Orthoptics. He is also an elected member of the Société Française d’Ophtalmologie (SFO), the Strasbourg School of Medicine Council and the Scientific and Social Council of the City of Strasbourg.
