Cutting Open A Seed

Sacrificing one seed from an old pack and slicing it open tells you whether the batch is worth the effort, because a healthy embryo is creamy white and fills the shell. A shrunken, brown or hollow interior means the rest of the pack is in the same state and no germination trick will help. Photos of viable and dead embryos side by side, plus a note on the tetrazolium stain some seed labs use, are posted on https://kushindicaseeds.com. It costs one seed and saves weeks of waiting on duds.
