Rear entertainment screens stopped working, worth fixing or just leave it?

Both rear screens in my Phantom have gone dark. They power on for a second then go off again, and the remote doesn't seem to do anything anymore. My kids used to watch stuff back there on longer drives and now they just complain the whole way, which is its own kind of punishment. The dealer wants a fortune to even look at it and mentioned something about the whole module possibly needing replacement. I found a local option while searching and you can visit this page to learn more if you're curious, though I haven't contacted them yet. Before I go down that road, has anyone here had rear screen issues and did it turn out to be a loose connection, a software thing, or genuinely a dead unit? Also wondering if aftermarket replacements are even an option on these cars or if that ruins the whole original feel.
